BIG NEWS!
We are incredibly honored to announce that The Mustard Seed Project has been named the recipient of the 2026 Innovator Award from the National Council on Aging (NCOA) as part of their Trailblazers in Aging Awards!
This national award recognizes organizations creating innovative solutions that improve the health, independence, and well-being of older adults—and we are humbled to be recognized among leaders making a difference across the country.
At The Mustard Seed Project, we believe innovation starts with listening. Our programs are built around the real needs of older adults, from transportation and nutrition to wellness, housing, and social connection. This award celebrates the power of rural communities, volunteers, partnerships, and the belief that every older adult deserves to age well.
As our CEO, Eric Blegen, shared:
“Innovation in aging isn’t about building new systems—it’s about listening to the needs of the community, so every older adult can live with dignity, purpose, and a real sense of belonging.”
This recognition belongs to our incredible staff, volunteers, supporters, partners, and community members who make this work possible every single day. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us build a stronger, more connected community for older adults.
