Volunteer

There are volunteer opportunities for everyone! Join a committee, become a volunteer driver, help out with an event or program, make friendly phone calls and more.

Key Senior Information Center

Volunteer in the office by offering free information & referral for seniors, their families and others who care. Training and mentoring provided. There are many resources available and our information specialists help connect people to what they need.

Community Volunteers

Neighbors helping neighbors with basic household tasks, yard work, and friendly visiting. These volunteers go to seniors’ homes and help with various requests such as lawn mowing, vacuuming, and changing light bulbs or fire detector batteries.

Committees

We have several committees that help keep The Mustard Seed Project rolling: the Board of Directors, Events and Programs, Housing, Finance, Council of Elders, Fund Development, and Board Development. If you have an area of expertise to share, please let us know!

Individual Door through Door Transportation

Drivers use their own vehicles to take individual riders to doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping, and other essential services. The drivers are reimbursed for mileage, tolls, parking, and meal expenses through Catholic Community Services.

Community Solutions Shuttle

Drivers take individual, pre-registered riders who require the use of a lift-equipped shuttle to doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping, and other essential services.

Events

Help with a Mustard Seed event! Events require a lot of preparation, set-up, and clean-up. TMSP has various events throughout the year – some small and others extravagant. Volunteers are an enormous help at any level.

Photographer

Capture the moments of beauty happening in our community. Do you like to take pictures? Grab your camera to witness our volunteers helping seniors. Capture the moments we’re too busy to photograph!

“It’s a pleasure to be able to help people. Some people that I have driven, I think I was probably their only social contact for the week. It just gives them a contact with the rest of the world, which they won’t necessarily have otherwise.

This is important to them and it’s important to me. Someday I may need the use of the service myself. Let’s make sure it works right.”

Jarvis,

an 87-year old volunteer driver who has logged more than 40,000 miles with TMSP
