Guitar Workshop- Deep Dive Into Open G Tuning

You CAN teach old dogs new tricks.

Bring your guitar and explore this fun way to play any major chord with one finger.
From artists Joni Mitchell to Keith Richards, Open G has been used to create memorable music.
In this 8-week class, instructor Jerry Nebel will help you unlock the same secrets.

Community Forum- Disaster Readiness

Join us for a free Community Forum- Disaster Readiness Training with Pierce County Human Services.

This introductory course will teach us about real hazards in Pierce County and the best planning practices.

Learn tips and tricks to build your preparedness kits during the year.

Crafternoon- Van Gogh “Starry Harbor”

Join us for a very special Crafternoon hosted by Peninsula Hands on Art! We will use mixed media and blend mediums of oil pastels and liquid watercolor to create a Van Gogh inspired piece of art using our local culture in the process.

Senior Empower Hour with Gig Harbor Self-Defense

This is a one-hour, interactive lecture designed specifically for seniors. It’s engaging, informative, and there are no physical skills involved—so no one has to worry about doing anything outside their comfort zone.

Our goal is to help seniors feel safer, more confident, and empowered in their everyday lives.

What you will learn:

  • Situational awareness
  • How criminals choose their targets
  • Simple strategies to avoid becoming a victim

Free Shuttle

Seniors on the Key Peninsula are welcome to reserve a space on our free shuttle, which runs every Monday and Wednesday. Riders arrive at the Mustard Seed at 12 p.m. and head home at 2 p.m.

Enjoy chair yoga, a delicious lunch, our low-vision support group, and the chance to connect with others in a welcoming space. Call 253-884-9814 to reserve your spot!

Mustard Seed Cafe

The Mustard Seed Cafe is open for lunch Monday-Friday, 11am-2pm. The Cafe serves up fresh-made soups, sandwiches, salads, and cookies. The food is delicious, nutritious, and affordable. Come by for lunch and enjoy the summer weather on our patio!

Connection & Support

The Caregiver Support Group meets on the third Monday of each month at 2:00pm. This is a safe place for unpaid caregivers, their families, and friends to exchange practical information on caregiving problems and possible solutions, talk through challenges and ways of coping, share feelings, needs, and concerns.

Life After Loss- Grief Support Group meets on the second Monday of each month at 12:00pm. This supportive group offers a safe and compassionate space for individuals grieving the loss of a loved one.

  • Share your feelings openly and honestly: In a confidential setting, you can express your emotions without judgment.
  • Find comfort and support: Connect with others who understand the complexities of grief and offer a listening ear.
  • Reduce feelings of isolation: Discover that you are not alone in your journey.
