Services & Programs

The Mustard Seed Project promotes independent living and quality of life for seniors residing on the Key Peninsula in western Washington by providing services and programs in transportation, information & referral, health and wellness, senior housing options, community education, and nutrition.

The Village is within walking distance of the grocery store, library, credit union, post office and several restaurants. It is about a block away from a full service medical clinic and from the Key Peninsula Fire Department. A short drive away is Gig Harbor and St. Anthony hospital; and the Village is an easy drive to Bremerton or to Tacoma, making it both convenient and beautiful.

A Village of Friends

The Village is a friendly neighborhood, where you really know your neighbors and the people who care for you. Working with the Green House Project, our goals are:

  • A Meaningful Life, with purposeful engagement, where elders are deeply known;
  • A Real Home, where good food is shared in good company and where normal life is the aim; and
  • An Empowered Staff, where teams collaborate and share in making decisions.

A Hub of Activity

In addition to being a place for elders to live, the Village and the Mustard Seed Project have created a community gathering place, not only for residents, but also for friends and family on the Key Peninsula. Village residents can take a very short walk to the Mustard Seed Project’s offices in the Crandall Center.

From fitness and art programs, information and referral, to support groups, and fun activities appealing to all generations, the Mustard Seed Village is a lively spot on the Key Peninsula.

A Caring Staff

The Village is made possible by dedicated staff who provide support and service to our residents. The Green House philosophy is based on commitment to excellence, engagement, mutual respect, self-direction, accountability, diversity and innovation.

We are committed to pursuing the highest quality of life for our residents. We offer personalized care to support our resident’s unique needs and preferences. Staff is on duty 24/7 to provide assistance if needed with ambulation, doctor appointments, bathing, eating, incontinent care, medication management or dressing, day or night.

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff receive regular professional training and continuing education well beyond what’s required for certification or licensing. That is part of how Mustard Seed Village is committed to delivering exceptional service.

Services Geared to Individual Needs

Our residents take as active a role as they wish in making the Village a vibrant place to live or visit. Unlike a nursing home, residents are independent and involved. This is not a one-size-fits all approach. Elders receive the services they desire, when they request it, from minimal or occasional services to substantial ongoing support.

We look forward to meeting you, so you can find… a New Way of Living at Mustard Seed Village.

Community Volunteer

This outreach program supports our neighbors who are age 60 and over to “age in place.” Services provided by volunteers to qualifying clients include yard care, friendly visits and light housekeeping.

Key Peninsula Senior Ride Program

Our senior transportation program partners with Catholic Community Services and volunteers to provide rides to medical appointments, grocery shopping and other essential destinations for pre-registered riders.

Key Senior Information Center

Our Key Senior Information Center (KSIC) is a free service providing resource information for seniors, their families, and others who care. KSIC is staffed by volunteers who share their expertise with the community.

Senior Housing- The Village

With support from the State, County, and the community, we built the Key Peninsula’s first assisted living campus, The Village, for people who wish to stay here but are too fragile to live alone in their own homes.

Support Groups, Forums, and Classes

The Mustard Seed Project provides a variety of community enrichment offerings including support groups, open activity hours, community forums, art classes, gentle yoga for older adults, and much more.

“Volunteering is an easy and rewarding way to give back to the community and get to know members of our community.”
