Support Groups, Forums, and Classes
The Mustard Seed Project provides a variety of community enrichment offerings including an ongoing support group for caregivers of loved ones with memory loss, Thinking Thursday community forums, art classes, gentle yoga for older adults, and much more. Key Peninsula Caregiver Support Group
- Designed for caregivers of those with Memory Loss, this is a safe place for unpaid family caregivers, their family and friends to exchange practical information on caregiving problems and possible solutions, talk through challenges and ways of coping, share feelings, needs and concerns, and learn about resources available in the community.
Community Forums
Varying topics ranging from Medicare, fall prevention, emotional well-being, and nutrition are presented every 3rd Thursday.
Art Classes
- The Mustard Seed Project hosts artists from Two Waters Arts Alliance and Peninsula Hands on Art to bring you classes that cover acrylic painting, watercolors, crafting, collage making, multi-generational classes (bring local elders together in a social and fun environment alongside homeschool kids) and much more.
Gentle Yoga Classes
These yoga classes are for older adults. Students will be encouraged to move at their own pace. The focus will be yogic philosophy, range of motion, building strength and balance, breathing techniques, and relaxation.
Wednesdays at The Mustard Seed Project from 11:15am-12:15pm.
Stay Active and Independent for Life Classes

- These classes are specifically designed for people 65 years or older to help improve balance and mobility; reducing the risk of falls and improving quality of life. Each class can be tailored to fit individual needs and are perfect for any fitness level – you can even participate sitting down!
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at The Mustard Seed project from 10:00am-11:00am. Pre-registration required.
“I truly believe in the vision statement to "age in place". Also, I really like the project idea of building a care facility catering to those on the Peninsula. As a volunteer driver some stops are quick drop off on the porch, some are a hi and bye, while others can be 30 minutes of conversation about life in general. I get a lot of thank yous for providing the service, it makes me feel good to help people out. Who knows, I may need this service at some point, so I am hoping it will be there when I need it.”
